Ion Meter 7650 Network Analysor

My post for today is about a special electrical technology device. This device called ION meter 7650 Network Analysor. I have not much information about this device but seriously it was attracting my interest. I have a little experience in installing this device during my industrial training in UiTM Facility Management Office. I was really exited to do that.So, I thought to share it here. This meter is a multifunctional electrical meter that able to measure the real power(kwh), apparent power(kva), reactive power (kvar), line currents, phase currents, line voltage and phase voltage.

What are special with this meter is it having an advanced electric power quality analysis.This meter able to:

• store the data of power consumption in period of 35 days.Any expired data recorded out of that day period will be overwrite by the data of incoming days.

• monitored in long distance. This meter communicate using the Modbus/TCP technology.

How this device help us to reduce our power consumption?

• We can download every month our monthly power consumption that recorded every 15 minute per days.
• Make an audit in our house to determine the actual power consumption by day, week and month.We do that by measure the current and kwh consumed for every single electric device in our house. 
• Lastly, make a comparison between measured power and the exact power that should used in our house. 
• By, doing this we can determine which device that we can reduce it's use and some of our routine that effect to the power wasting.  

Actually, this ION Meter 7650 is used for industrial building but we can also used it at home. Just for fun and try something new.
